You wake up feeling like you haven’t slept … drag yourself out of bed and into the shower. It takes you a couple of hours to really get going. After lunch you could easily fall asleep. After dinner, somehow, you find you experience a ‘second wind’ and start rushing around, getting things done, and generally finding it hard to settle and go to bed. Once in bed, you can’t get to sleep ... busy mind. Once asleep, you can’t stay asleep, ...... If you identify with this … DANGER ... DANGER … DANGER….

The record for the longest period without sleep is 18 days, 21 hours and 40 minutes, during a rocking chair marathon. The record holder reported hallucinations, paranoia, blurred vision, slurred speech and memory and concentration lapses.
