Women need to be aware of options available for their financial security. "A Man is not a financial plan!". Many women remain single for longer or find themselves on their own in midlife. Whatever our situation, we should all take responsibitlity to educate ourselves and stay informed so we can become wiser with money choices.

When thinking about this article and income protection I recalled a question posed by a fellow colleague and friend that has struck particular resonance – if you had a machine that sat in the corner of your living room whose sole function was to make money, say $60,000 a year for a good number of decades, would you not insure it?
